Napoli fullback Andrea Dossena is on Wearside to complete his move to Sunderland.
TMW says Dossena left Naples at 7am this morning for Newcastle and will sign outright with the Black Cats, subject to a medical.
Napoli will contribute to a percentage of Dossena's wages for the first year of his Sunderland deal.
The Italy left-back has previous Premier League experience with Liverpool.
