Napoli manager Rafael Benitez is believed to be keen on bringing in Daniel Agger on loan from Liverpool in the winter window.
The Denmark defender has featured for the Reds just eight times in the Premier League this season due to a mix of injury and manager Brendan Rodgers preferring Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure.
That has prompted former Anfield boss Benitez to prepare a short-term offer for Agger although the former Brondby man is eager to stay on Merseyside and fight for his first team position.
