Napoli defender Salvatore Aronica is close to signing a new contract.

Aronica was linked with a switch to hometown club Palermo last month, but he remained in Naples and a fresh deal is now waiting for him.

"We are close to renewing the contract of Aronica," agent Alessandro Moggi told Radio CRC. "All that is missing is the signature and that should come in the next few days."
