Napoli confirm interest in Tottenham’s Sandro, not keen on Lamela

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that his club is interested in Tottenham’s Sandro.

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed that his club is interested in Tottenham’s Sandro.

The Italian outfit have been linked with both the Brazilian midfielder and his Spurs teammate Erik Lamela, who arrived in north London from Roma last summer.

When quizzed on Napoli’s reported interest in Lamela, De Laurentiis played down the speculation, but was quick to endorse the pursuit of Sandro who has been at White Hart Lane since 2010.

"Rumours about our interest in him (Lamela) are only agent's games,” said the Napoli chief.

"I wanted him a year ago but they didn’t allow the deal.

"Now, with (Rafael) Benitez, we don’t need Lamela anymore.

"Sandro? He’s one of our targets, but not the only one."
