Napoli are confident of completing the signing of Espanyol defender Victor Ruiz today.

Manchester City have made a late play for the Spaniard.

"We are very close," insisted Napoli sports director Riccardo Bigon said. "Something might be unblocked in the next few hours.

"I believe that more than this evening, tomorrow will be the decisive day."
