New Napoli coach Maurizio Sarri admits he held several meetings with AC Milan earlier this summer.
Sarri left Empoli for Napoli last month.
“Was I close to Milan? Yes. I had several meetings with Adriano Galliani.
“People ask us to buy more defenders, but I reply that I will aim to improve the defensive movement of the current squad. I prefer the chance to improve a player rather than just get another one.
“Actually, in our first training session I told Albiol that his body positioning was all wrong. Later that night I remembered he'd won a World Cup and European Championship, so it did make me laugh.
“Lorenzo Insigne intrigues me. He is talented, but hasn't got the best out of himself yet. According to Arrigo Sacchi, he's the most talented Italian player right now. Insigne asked me to try out as a trequartista and that's what we're doing."
