Napoli coach Walter Mazzarri has explained why he dropped Gokhan Inler for their 0-0 draw with AC Milan.

Inler has struggled for form in recent games.

Mazzarri said: "There are moments in which a player loses his sharpness and needs a little rest. It's only normal to rotate the squad when you have alternatives. Last season Walter Gargano needed some time on the bench to recuperate his energy too."
