Napoli sports chief Pierpaolo Marino says they won't be applying for the Intertoto Cup.

"First we want to gain the 42 points needed for safety," said Marino. "The Intertoto Cup isn't our aim. It is often a competition that can hurt your players later in the season.

"We just want to see how far we can finish up the table."
