Napoli boss Benitez proud of victory over Inter Milan

Napoli coach Rafa Benitez was delighted with their performance in victory over Inter Milan.

Days after their Champions League elimination, Napoli were able to lift themselves and thump the Nerazzurri 4-2.

“The Champions League exit was done with heads held very high, so I expected this performance. Clearly it is different, we played against a great side and did very well,” Benitez told Sky Sport Italia.

He adopted a system with Insigne, Jose Maria Callejon and Dries Mertens rotating behind Gonzalo Higuain.

“All three have the freedom to change position if they want to, as long as they then do the defensive work too. They are able to do what they want in attack.

“Of course we can still improve. The idea is to keep the ball, but at times there are mistakes and it can put the defence under pressure. These are individual matters rather than tactical ones.”
