Napoli boss Benitez confident ahead of 'crucial' Swansea clash

Napoli manager Rafael Benitez has labelled Thursday night's Europa League Round of 32 tie with Swansea City as a 'crucial' encounter.

The Italian club host the Swans at the Stadio San Paolo following last week's 0-0 draw in south Wales and Benitez is targeting victory as the Partenopei look to advance through the stages of Europe's second tier club competition.

"We want to progress and in order to do that, we need to score more goals than they do and win," Benitez said.

"This is a crucial game for us.

"We are confident because we can do good things this season."

But the former Liverpool boss is well aware of the attacking threat Garry Monk's Swans pose prompting him to implore his players to bring their best to the second leg contest.

"I know Swansea well," he added. "They did a great job against us as well as against Liverpool at the weekend.

"They scored three goals against the Reds, but they also conceded four. They have a team capable of progressing to the next round of the Europa League.

"We have to be ready, we need to be clinical in attack and strong in defence. We need to impose our game."
