Naples council happy to join Napoli in San Paolo redevelopment

The Naples city council are drawing up redevelopment plans for the San Paolo with Napoli.

The two parties have now come together to improve the stadium.

"The Council and Napoli will work together for a stadium that is not inspired by any model, but will be unique, just like the Neapolitans," said Mayor Luigi De Magistris.

"Napoli will soon have a stadium worthy of the team and the city. This is a challenge I want to win. De Laurentiis wants to make important investments into the San Paolo, which is currently used once every 15 days.

"We want to re-qualify the Fuorigrotta area around the stadium with spaces for music and entertainment. At the centre of it will be a wonderful stadium with the Napoli museum inside."
