Nani says Paul Scholes' return gave Manchester United the title boost they needed earlier this season.

Nani insists Sir Alex Ferguson's move to bring Scholes out of retirement was a masterstroke and that his return to first-team action gave ­everyone at the club a huge lift.

"I was very surprised when Scholes came back to the team but also very, very happy," he told the Daily Star Sunday.

"He is a player who is admired and I think when he came back it did give everyone in the squad a nice feeling."
