Nakamura: I had to quit Espanyol to rescue World Cup hopes

Shunsuke Nakamura admits he had to leave Espanyol to rescue his World Cup hopes.

The Japan midfielder signed for Yokohama Marinos last week after failing to make an impression in his only season in Spain.

The Celtic hero said: "The World Cup is the main reason I decided to leave Espanyol. I need to play with continuity."
