Until last season Nakamura didn't appear to cope with Old Firm derbies.
Now, probably in his last season with Celtic, the Japan international admits that adjusting to the full-blooded nature of the derby has not been easy.
He told the Daily Record: "I look ahead to every match the same way but maybe I shouldn't say that when we are playing Rangers.
"Before the last few derby games of last season, I maybe spent too much time thinking about Rangers and how they play their football.
"Going into the home game when we won 2-1, I didn't do that. Looking back on the replay, I can see that my performance was sometimes aggressive - I battled for the ball when I needed to.
"At other times it was more composed. I managed to distinguish between the two different sides of the game. I think that was the best way to approach the match."
