DC United have been boosted by news that promising youngster Andy Najar has signed a long-term deal with the club.

The 17-year old, who was named the 2010 MLS Rookie of the Year, has penned a multi-year deal which has delighted the DC hierarchy.

"Andy had a brilliant rookie season and is the most exciting young player in the league," DC general manager Dave Kasper said in a press release.

"One of our top priorities this offseason was to agree to a new deal with Andy that would both reward him for his contributions and secure his future with DC United."

The Honduran winger managed 26 appearances in his debut MLS season and scored five goals for the bottom-of-the-league DC outfit.
