Naismith wants to be a Rangers man forever

Steven Naismith insists he would love to stay at Rangers for the rest of his career. The 24-year old has just signed a deal keeping him at Ibrox until 2015 and is adamant that this is the place he wants to be for the remainder of his playing days.

"If I'd had major plans about leaving Rangers I wouldn't have signed for four-and-a-half years. I'd have been looking for a contract a bit shorter than that," he said.

"If I'm here for the next four and a half years then I'd probably be looking at staying at Rangers for even longer and then you're looking at the later stages of your career.

"I do know other clubs were looking at me but I don't know which ones.

"I told my agent I didn't want to know because I just wanted to stay at Rangers first and foremost.

"If you're winning trophies and the quality is still there it's the best club to be at."

The Scotland international has now racked up over 70 Scottish Premier League appearances for the 'Gers since arriving from Kilmarnock in the 2007/08 season.
