Injured Rangers star Steven Naismith has urged the club not to sell leading scorer Nikica Jelavic.
The 26-year old Croatian international has continually been linked with an Ibrox departure since he began scoring goals upon his arrival last season and Naismith, who is sidelined for the rest of the season, hopes he can again team up with Jelavic who is likely to be a transfer target for clubs in January.
"Hopefully Jela is still at Rangers when I come back because he's a great player to play with," Naismith said.
"He has definitely improved my game. Just playing with someone who's clever and on the same wavelength, knowing where to put the ball when you make runs, makes such a difference.
"I hope the club can hold on to our top players and maybe add some in January, so we can keep the competition for places in the squad going."
