Kal Naismith has departed Rangers to go on trial with Accrington Stanley.
The 21-year old forward is training with the League Two side ahead of a potential permanent move to the Crown Ground.
"We've allowed Kal to go down to Accrington, where (former 'Gers striker) James (Beattie) is the manager," said Rangers assistant Kenny McDowall.
"He has gone there on trial with a view to maybe moving on because he's at an age now where he's got to go and get himself playing football.
"We feel Kal might become frustrated at being in the squad this season but without getting many games.
"He has started pre-season really well and he has worked hard but we just felt we had to be fair to him and give him the opportunity to look elsewhere."
