Naismith hopes Rangers lose no more stars

Rangers striker Steven Naismith hopes the Glasgow club can retain their stars after seeing Kenny Miller depart last week. The 24-year old former Kilmarnock man has urged Rangers management to tie up players like Sasa Papac, Madjid Bougherra, Steve Davis, Allan McGregor and Steven Whittaker who all are coming to the end of their current deals so the club can maintain its greatness.

Miller is a massive loss to the reigning SPL champions and Naismith has made it clear that no other key players should be allowed to leave Ibrox.

"The quicker the club get these deals tied up the better for everybody at Rangers. The people at the club aren't stupid - they've been talking to folk," he said.

"I signed a new deal recently, they're talking to Sasa Papac and they have been talking to Allan McGregor.

"So here's hoping they can get things tied up between now and the end of the season because it will give us all a wee boost.

"Allan McGregor has been getting linked with clubs for the past year. Madjid has been the same. During every transfer window you open the paper and he is being linked with somebody.

"They're still at the club and they're still doing well for Rangers.

"Hopefully the club can get deals tied up for them and we can keep the core of the team and move forward."
