Nagoya Grampus kicked off their first Asian Champions League campaign with a powerful 3-1 away victory over Ulsan Hyundai.
The Japanese club, mentored by former Yugoslav legend Dragan Stojkovic, went down in the 25th minute after Ulsan's Cho Jin-soo netted from close range.
At half-time the scores remained 1-0 until Maya Yoshida got on the end of a Keiji Yoshimura cross and headed home just eight minutes from the re-start.
Brazilian Davi continued his good form for his new club when he put Nagoya in front, again from a header, this time in the 77th minute.
The game was on a gilt edge from then on as the home side pressed forward in search of an equaliser however they could not muster one and only went further behind when a third header from Nagoya wrapped up the match.
Magnum was on hand to nod home Noashi Nakamura's free-kick in the 86th minute giving the Japanese club a superb victory.
