Nacho was delighted to be part of Real Madrid's derby win at Atletico Madrid.

The Spaniard and Raphael Varane helped secure a clean sheet for the 3-0 win.

"We always have a spectacular squad and even more so this season," Nacho said when asked about the absence of several of Los Blancos' starters.

"I'm very happy that young homegrown players can show what they're made of in matches like today's one.

"I am pleased on a personal level for today's match.

"The possibility of starting was first mentioned yesterday, with us waiting to see how Ramos progressed.

"I always try to make the most of these opportunities."
