Mystery surrounds the hip injury suffered by Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

Benzema faces a fortnight out after Real insisted the injury occurred in the home defeat to Barcelona.

However, AS is questioning the club's claim as Benzema showed no discomfort during the El Clasico, nor when he was seen boarding a flight to Dubai later in the evening.

Instead, there's claims Benzema suffered the setback during his Christmas break. And the injury has surprised many inside the club.

The striker is now expected to be missing for 2-3 weeks.
