Royston Drenthe was missing for Everton's FA Cup semifinal defeat to Liverpool.
The Mail on Sunday says there was mystery in the Everton ranks with Dutch winger Drenthe left out of their 18-man squad amid rumours of a breach of discipline.
Drenthe is on-loan at Everton from Real Madrid.
