An unnamed Premier League club is chasing Stoke City pair Abdoulaye Faye and Glenn Whelan.
The Sentinel says Stoke are now waiting to see whether the un-named club follow up their interest in either player before the end of the January transfer window.
Stoke's hierarchy have stressed that they are not actively seeking to part company with either player.
But City boss Tony Pulis would have to consider concrete offers for two players struggling to make an impact on the first-team scene over the past two months.
