Myers pens new deal with Sporting Kansas City

Chance Myers has signed a new contract with MLS Cup champions Sporting Kansas City.

The 26-year old defender, who has been with SKC since 2008, has signed on for the 2014 MLS season much to the delight of head coach Peter Vermes.

"Re-signing Chance was an important goal of ours in the offseason," Vermes said.

"We're looking forward to him entering training camp and another season with our team because he's been one of the core members of this group. We hope to continue the consistency that we've had over that time."

Myers, who has played 126 times in MLS for Sporting, added: "It's exciting and I'm happy to be home. I'm looking forward to a repeat of last year. Everybody is ready to put in a lot of hard work and get the season started."
