Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has rated his players as the best in the world after their 2-0 Europa League group stage win over Red Bull Salzburg.

City were served well by winger David Silva and Brazilian striker Jo who netted the goals but it was the entire squad who received adulation from the Italian tactician.

"We are talking about two important players. For me my players are the best players in the world," he said.

As for Jo, he scored his first goal in two years for City and Mancini hopes he can continue to return to top form after some time away from Eastlands.

"For strikers it is important to score goals," he added.

"Jo has scored an important goal and I hope he continues to play like he did tonight."
