My legs are tired but I'm so happy for Chelsea! - Zouma

Kurt Zouma was over the moon after helping Chelsea win the Capital One Cup on Sunday.

The 20-year old French centre-back was deployed as a defensive midfielder by Jose Mourinho for the Wembley clash with Tottenham which ended 2-0.

The Blues needed a replacement for the suspended Nemanja Matic and Mourinho asked former Saint-Etienne man Zouma to fill the void which the youngster was happy to do - although he feels he did a lot more running than usual.

"I'm very happy because we won the trophy and that was the target before the game," he told chelseafc.com.

"It was difficult but the most important thing was that everybody gave everything.

"The manager told me I was going to be playing in midfield two days before the game.

"I was surprised when he told me but after that I was excited. I have never played in midfield before. It was good for me because I had to work more than I do when I play as a central defender.

"My legs are tired now!

"But I'm proud to have helped the team win a title at Wembley so I'm very, very, very, very happy!"
