Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu has formally lodged an appeal against a ruling made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport ordering him to pay Chelsea £13.8m in compensation. Chelsea sacked the Romania international striker after he failed a drugs test in 2004 and the Blues pursued him through the courts.
Mutu has now presented his appeal to a Swiss Federal Tribunal in an attempt to overturn the decision.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the terms of the appeal will be made public on Tuesday.
