Unless Adrian Mutu pays £15m compensation to Chelsea by Monday, the Premier League outfit will reportedly apply to FIFA banning the player from playing, effectively ending his career. Fiorentina and the player's legal team are looking towards UEFA and the European Courts for assistance.
Italian minister for work Maurizio Sacconi said, "The Mutu case is delicate and I urge the government to get involved," said the minister.
Newspaper La Nazione has even suggested a fund raising event in the city in an attempt to help the striker pay the money.
