Kiki Musampa is hoping to be offered a contract by Sunderland before the weekend.

The 30-year-old former Manchester City midfielder, who has been training with the club since last week, was watched by Black Cats boss Roy Keane as he played in the reserves' 1-0 win at Liverpool on Tuesday evening.

Keane told the club's official website: "I watched the game on Tuesday. He did okay and I will probably give a decision over the next 48 hours.

"Until I speak to the player it would be unfair for me to say what I want to do."
