Reading captain Graham Murty has urged manager Steve Coppell to stay.

"I think we have the mental strength as a squad to get back up and I think we have the best manager available to lead us there," he said in the Reading Evening Post. "He has the knowledge and all the players have the belief in him. He has so much integrity and is an important base for us.

"He may well have made his mind up already, but I couldn't say what he has decided. I am just hoping he stays and leads us back up."
