Murray relieved to break goal drought with Palace

Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray has got the 'monkey off his back' by opening his goalscoring account for his new club against Blackpool last Saturday. Murray joined the Eagles from rivals Brighton in May but had to wait until Saturday to score his first goal for the club due an ankle injury.

Murray told the Croydon Advertiser: "I was happy to get my first but a little bit disappointed not to get my second to be honest.

"But I can't be too disappointed. It was very nice to get the first goal and get that monkey off my back.

"We're all pretty happy heading into the first international break lying in sixth place in the table, and we have to build on that afterwards when we regroup."
