Murphy desperate for Sunderland to ask sensible price

Daryl Murphy wants Sunderland not to price him out of a permanent move to Ipswich. The Irishman is currently on loan at Portman Road until the end of the season after dropping down the pecking order at the Stadium of Light.

Murphy took his tally at Ipswich to six goals in 11 games with the winner in the 1-0 victory over Barnsley at the weekend and he is hoping to earn a permanent move to Roy Keane's side.

"I don't know what price is going to be put on my head, or whatever," Murphy told the East Anglian Daily Times.

"I hope the price is not too restrictive, because I just want to play football. I've got my chance here, and I'm enjoying my time working with Roy Keane again, as I did at Sunderland. Long may that continue.

"At the end of the season I go back to Sunderland, and we'll see what happens from there," added Murphy.
