Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross was put in his place by Mum after scoring the winner against Middlesbrough.
It was the defender's third goal in four games for the Potters - though four in five according to Mum.
Mrs Shawcross was eavesdropping on her son's after-match analysis with The Sentinel when she cheekily reminded everyone that it is indeed four in five if you count a last-gasp own goal against Portsmouth.
"Yeah, I'm on a bit of a goalscoring streak at the moment," said Shawcross, with half-a-smile towards his mum. "I usually get a few at a time and so hopefully I can add a few more between now and the end of the season."
