The wife of Louis van Gaal says Manchester United job will hold no fears for him.
Truus van Gaal is the woman behind the new Manchester United manager, having married him six years ago after helping the 62-year-old get over the heartbreak of losing his first wife to cancer.
"Louis does not worry in the slightest when he gets criticised," Truus told the Sunday Mirror.
"In fact, I could be lying awake at night for hours thinking about all the things they say and write about him, while he is lying next to me sleeping like an ox.
"Whether his team plays good or bad, whether the public and media slaughter him or not, he is not affected by anything.
"He always says to me, 'What are you worrying about? Let them have their moment of fun. Only you and I know how things really are. They don't.'
"I get really cheesed off when they criticise him. My blood boils, when people are being unfair. Louis says I should be above all that. He says good people who know about the game take the criticism with a pinch of salt.
"The only thing that bothers him is when he sees me getting hurt or upset. He is not bothered about what other people write and say. Day and night he is in the middle of his football world."
