The wife of Arsenal fullback Andre Santos has defended her husband in the aftermath of the Robin van Persie shirt fiasco.

Santos has been criticised for taking Van Persie's Manchester United at halftime of Saturday's defeat.

Santos' wife took to Twitter last night to defend her hubby. She said: "The English should better understand the Brazilian culture before judging someone.

"No one stops being friends just for changing company."
