Moyes would welcome Donovan back to Everton

Everton boss David Moyes would gladly bring LA Galaxy captain Landon Donovan back to Goodison Park. The 28 year old recently revealed he would find it hard to turn down a return to Merseyside after a successful loan spell last season.

After hearing of Donovan's comments, Moyes told BBC Radio Merseyside: "If he'd like to come back, then we'd be delighted to have him."

Donovan scored two goals in 10 appearances while on loan at the Blues.

The Galaxy forward is currently preparing for the Major League Soccer end of season play-off's in the United States but admitted he was unsure about a possible return to Goodison.

"It would be hard to say no," Donovan told BBC Radio Merseyside recently. "I really hope that, if it's not this year, I get to go back there and play again. But if you asked me now I would lean towards a little more uncertainty.

"It's hard for me to say as I've had a really long year. But we'll see after a few week's rest and see how it goes."

If the United States record goalscorer was to return to Merseyside, it would be likely that he would appear on a three-month loan deal similar to that which he signed last season.
