Moyes warns Man Utd fans not to underestimate Champions League group

Manchester United boss David Moyes has warned fans not to write off their Champions League group opponents.

Moyes is quick to stamp on any United fan who thinks they are a shoo-in for the last 16 after being drawn in a group with Bayer Leverkusen, Shakhtar Donetsk and Real Sociedad.

"Drawing a team from Germany and Spain, that's tough,' he said. 'And Shakhtar have been in the quarter finals. After the draw, I phoned Sir Alex [Ferguson] to talk about it and he said he thinks it's one of the hardest draws United have ever had in the Champions League. If that's coming from him it must be tough. It's not the given everyone thought.

"Everyone put their money on Barca and Real Madrid last season and they got knocked out by the German sides. You look at what PSG did, Malaga. There was a real swing in the Champions League. It didn't necessarily go to the so-called biggest teams. It was the best teams."
