Manchester United boss David Moyes hopes to use the festive programme to get his team back in the title mix.
After the visit to Hull City today they travel to Norwich on Saturday before January league matches against Tottenham, Swansea City, Chelsea and Cardiff City.
And Moyes said: "I don't know in the Premier League if you can ever be cut adrift but you can certainly put yourself back in the mix.
"That needs to be the plan. We need to get ourselves focused on winning.
"It would be great to look three games ahead but I can't because the job is to look at the next one.
"You can only try to win the next one and see where you go from that.
"Ideally, at the back end of January I would like to be much closer to the top end than we are just now.
"We have to show by the end of January and beginning of February that we can get ourselves much closer to the top end of the league so that we can start to add a bit of pressure."
