Former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes feels Ross Barkley can develop into an attacking player.
Moyes admits he once saw Barkley as a genuine box-to-box midfielder.
But he told the Sunday Telegraph: "When I was at Everton, I remember saying I thought Ross Barkley looked like the closest player to Bryan Robson that I had seen.
"He was a swashbuckling box-to-box midfielder, he was tough. But he got a terrible leg break and it had a little bit of an effect on him.
"But just before I left Everton I'd played him as a No 10 behind the striker - one game was at Chelsea, one was at Arsenal - and he had just started to show signs. He seems to have found a niche as an offensive midfield player and he looks like he is finding a style to his game which after he gets back from injury he will show more of."
