Schalke centre-half Kyriakos Papadopoulos is being watched by Manchester United.
The People says United manager David Moyes is eyeing the Greece international as an alternative to St Etienne's Kurt Zouma.
While Zouma is top of Moyes' wanted list, he is also watching Schalke's Greek centre-half Papadopoulos, who has just recovered from a knee injury.
Both centre-backs are eligible to play in the Champions League.
