Manchester United boss David Moyes was full of praise for his strike duo after they combined to beat Arsenal 1-0 at Old Trafford on Sunday.
Wayne Rooney's 27th-minute corner was met by Robin van Persie who rose above the Gunners defence to head home, allowing United to move up to fifth on the table, and prompting kind words from the manager.
"Great players score great goals in big games and he (van Persie) is a great player," he told Sky Sports.
"I have got to say, his sidekick today played great as well, Wayne - the two of them were fantastic."
