Moyes: Neville's Ronaldo tackle transformed Everton season
Everton boss David Moyes smiles when he recalls THAT TACKLE made by skipper Phil Neville on Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo during their 1-1 draw earlier this season.
United lost the plot — even though TV replays proved it was a totally fair challenge — but Everton rolled up their sleeves, ended with a draw and have not looked back since.
Moyes said: “I remember that tackle, it was definitely one of THOSE moments.
“Things like that give you a bit of momentum and we got a decent point because of someone trying to take responsibility.
“Phil did it for us with a tackle that day. He’s tried to take a lot of ownership for what goes on and he deserves a lot of praise for that.”
