Real Sociedad coach David Moyes is delighted with their deal for Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi.
Moyes has declared Illarramendi a "big signing" for La Real.
“I said two weeks ago that if the right midfielder came along, we would be interested," Moyes explained when asked about the signing.
“Illarra's return is great for the club. It shows the ambition the president has; he wants to give the supporters a quality team. So we have to give him a lot of credit for making it happen. Illarramendi's quality – that's why Real Madrid signed him and also why numerous teams from all over Europe wanted to buy him.
"His main strength is when he is in possession of the ball; maybe not so much when he's not got the ball but everyone here – the supporters, the press, myself, the president hope that Asier has come back from Real Madrid as an even better player than he was before. He's gained experienced and learned from the players he has played alongside. So we will be giving him a lot of responsibility. He's a big signing for the club – and he is also one of the people which this club produced. He's well- known, the players all know him and I am looking forward to working with him; I don't think he'll change our style too much."
