Moyes: I felt like I was letting down Everton

Everton boss David Moyes admits he was feeling down before this week's success.

He was delighted to have captured Nikica Jelavic from Rangers and Steven Pienaar on loan from Tottenham this week — as well as beating Prem leaders Manchester City 1-0.

Moyes, who takes his side to Wigan today, said: "I needed a lift.

"I felt that I was letting too many people down with our performances.

"I was feeling limited to who I could play and the changes to the team I could make.

"I was disappointing the supporters with how we were playing and the team we were putting out.

"Our target now is to get to 40 points and then kick on from there."
