Former Manchester United and Everton boss David Moyes hopes John Stones can avoid the pressure of expectation.
Moyes signed Stones for Everton.
He told the Sunday Telegraph: "I think John Stones is someone who is naturally talented in as much as he immediately gives you confidence on the ball. He immediately looks composed. He has a lot of very good attributes. He's really young but he's doing really well.
"I think through time and with what he has got he could develop into a really top central defender. But he really needs to be given that time. He needs for not too much pressure to be put on him or for him to be thrust into the limelight too quickly. It was only 18 months ago he was playing at Barnsley."
