Moyes hopes Fellaini will sign new Everton deal

Moyes hopes Fellaini will sign new Everton deal David Moyes hopes Marouane Fellaini will follow in the footsteps of some other Everton players and sign a long-term deal soon.

This season, Tim Cahill, Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Jack Rodwell and Seamus Coleman have all committed themselves to the Goodison Park cause and now Moyes wants the 23-year old Belgian to follow suit.

"I think talks have started now, even though I've not spoken to Marouane personally about it," Moyes told the club's official website.

"He's really important to us, part of the furniture here now, and of course we want him to stay.

"We did it with the likes of Jags and Bainesy, who are on long-term contracts.

"We want to keep building on that and Marouane comes into that category. When you have good players, teams will always come looking for them.

"In the main the chairman has done a really good job keeping hold of players, so we'll see how we go with Marouane too."
