Moyes goes for Modric to satisfy Man Utd fans' wish for big name deal

Manchester United boss David Moyes hopes to satisfy fans wanting a big name signing by landing Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric. The Daily Mail says Moyes is considering a move for Modric with his pursuit of Barcelona's Cesc Fabregas over.

Keen to make the right decision Moyes is weighing up alternatives and Modric remains a viable option with Madrid willing to sell for around £25m.

The Spaniards would welcome the money with negotiations ongoing with Tottenham over a £100m deal for Gareth Bale although they would prefer to offload elder players such as 31-year-old Xabi Alonso.
