Everton boss Dave Moyes is delighted with the response from fans for tonight's UEFA Cup clash against Ukrainian side Metalist Kharkiv.
Well over 30,000 tickets have now been sold for the Uefa Cup first round, first leg game and Moyes told evertonTV: "I think that it shows how important it was for us to get into Europe.
"If there are over 30,000 at a Uefa Cup game that will be fantastic because there are Champions League games with less supporters at the moment."
Moyes noted the Cup Winners' Cup semi final win over Bayern Munich, one of Goodison Park's greatest ever games.
"Let's be fair," he said, "It's what the Everton supporters have been brought up on.
"It wasn't long ago we watched the tape of Everton against Bayern in the semi final, and you can see the supporters and how many of them are longing for another night like that, so hopefully we will be able to give them as close to that as we can."
