Everton boss Dave Moyes is delighted after signing several of his big players to new contracts in recent weeks.
"They want to be part of playing in Europe and that's why it is important we keep this group together.
"I remember when I got the job, I said we might not have much money but the most important thing is not to take my best players away from me. On one occasion that did happen and we couldn't keep a player but we have now done everything we can to keep our players.
"They are the ones we really wanted and we have kept them and all we are going to do now is add to this group.
"That's vital for this competition because I have been anxious to have a really good cup run in Europe.
"It is something that could maybe help break the barrier into the top four and is something we think could be done in the future."
